Frequently asked questions

How accurate is this estimate?

It is a directional estimate based on published policy rates and your six inputs. It does not model GST, tax, loan, or land specifics, so treat it as a starting point, not a binding entitlement figure.

Is this an official government tool?

No. It is a free tool built by Nitisagar Advisory, a DPIIT-recognised policy advisory firm. It is not affiliated with any government department.

Why do most schemes show "In review" instead of an amount?

Most incentives are computed against actual filings, loan terms, or consumption data that this calculator does not collect: SGST paid, working capital loan terms, certification invoices, and similar records. Surfacing a guessed number for these would mislead you, so they are flagged for a detailed review instead. The Employment-Generation Incentive is the main exception, since it can be computed directly from your headcount input.

Is UNNATI 2024 still open to new applicants?

No, not at present. The DPIIT UNNATI portal shows an Important Notice stating that registration of further applications has been stopped because applications have exceeded available funding. The portal notice adds that registration may resume if funds become available or existing applications are rejected. Units already registered before the stop continue receiving disbursements under their granted terms; get in touch for a legacy projection. Confirm current status at unnati.dpiit.gov.in.

What is the live basis for a new Assam MSME applicant now?

IIPA 2019, Assam's state industrial policy, remains open and was extended indefinitely from 1 September 2024. For a new applicant it is the calculator's primary basis, alongside two central options: PMEGP margin-money subsidy for new micro units, and CGTMSE collateral-free credit guarantee cover.

Does IIPA 2019 use district zones like UNNATI?

No. IIPA 2019 has no district or zone dimension at all. Its SGST reimbursement and other incentive caps are set purely by enterprise size (Micro, Small, Medium, Large, or Mega), not by where in Assam the unit is located. District zones (Zone A/B at 30%/50%) only ever applied to UNNATI, which is presently stopped for new applicants.

What about electronics-specific schemes like ECMS and the Semiconductor Policy?

Both target anchor investors, not MSME-scale projects. ECMS is generally out of reach below roughly ₹15 Cr investment, and the Assam Semiconductor Policy 2023 targets fab/ATMP/OSAT-scale projects above roughly ₹100 Cr, the kind of scale behind Tata Electronics' Jagiroad OSAT. The calculator marks these not applicable below those thresholds rather than computing a capex percentage that wouldn't hold up.

What does Nitisagar do that this calculator does not?

A verified assessment models tranche timing, computes the filing-linked schemes against your actual GST and tax records, adjudicates stacking, checks land tenure, and produces a DIC-ready file. The calculator deliberately stops short of all of that.
